This is a bit late, that is, right now it's Friday morning in Springfield Tennessee, and we are getting ready for the last long leg home!
Home, and the hot, humid Florida weather, but it's home.
Nashville, which is just 20 miles away from Springfield, is having the CMA Week. Thousands and thousands of country music fans. It's going to be slow getting out of town today.
Well, yesterday was a 680 mile jaunt from Omaha to Springfield. We went through several states, from Nebraska, then through Iowa, some Kansas, then Missouri, and finally Tennessee. Today a bit simpler - Tennessee, Georgia, and then Florida.
We did a "drive by" of the Gateway Arch National Monument in Saint Louis. Impressive. Something we'll have to make time for one day. There's a lot of incredible and inspiring stories there.
So, tonight, we'll be calling you from HOME!! It's been a most wonderful 3 weeks with Miss Adriana. She is so very sweet, dynamic, and such a great lady. It's been an honor and a treat to be her driver for this journey.
It was a long, long day,
Yes, Toto, we were in Kansas too,
Then into Iowa,
Onward, Eastward to St Louis,
A beautiful suspension bridge over the Mighty Mississippi,
Into St Louis,
The beautiful and inspiring Gateway Arch,
Totally beautiful what man can do,
It's right on the Mississippi River, here's a barge going upstream,
A monument statue tribute to the early settlers,
The neighborhood around the Arch is well, old and rundown,...
We went into Illinois too,
Finally dinner at Cracker Barrel! My lady was TIRED!
We are ready to be home!
