Sunday June 5

Dear Family and Friends,
Today was a very, very long day... especially for Adriana!
I had her up early, ate a nice breakfast at the dining room (best bacon I've had in a long time!), and then hit the road from Spokane Washington to Bozeman Montana.
After we traveled through some magnificent Rocky Mountain high type of highways - I-90 is so beautifully done through the Rockies!,  and crawling over the Continental Divide at 6393 feet, we slowly descended from Idaho through Montana's Big Sky country.
We arrived early on, got our rooms and headed for Yellowstone because I mistakenly, again I know! Again!, when will I learn to check maps?!, we went to Yellowstone National Park.  It took nearly two hours to reach "Old Faithful" instead of the the 1 hour I anticipated.  And then we waited until 1930 local time for "Old Faithful" to put on her 3 minutes of spectacular show.
By the time we headed back, another 2 plus hours, it was night, and we just arrived back here in Bozeman.
The amazing thing about being this far North is that it does NOT get dark until after 2200!  2200, think about that.  Of course, above the Arctic Circle, the sun doesn't set for nearly 3 months!

OK,
Yep, made it through all the potatoes!

Nice hills to climb and descend, not a boring drive,

Montana has the nicest rest stops I've seen, anywhere...

Some hilly and steep mountains, them be the Rockies, son!

Another stop for nature, and a stretch, the hills are demanding on man and beast!

Here's a '58 Corvette in MINT condition, this lucky guy just bought her in Washington and is taking her home to Alabama,
talk about childhood dreams come true!

My dream come true, in front of some high plateau scrub,

We're at over 5,500 feet, definitely mile high club!

And she is my dream come true indeed!

Big Sky country for sure, some truly awesome sights here in Montana if you ever want to come... but come in the summer, the winters, shall we say, just SUCK!

SNOW!  Rockies and Snow, how cool!
That's BeUte, be careful how you say that pardner!

a great lunch at Perkins, their "Ragin Cajun" was good!

Back on the road, more Big Sky!

More rockies,

More Big Sky,

More Rockies and snow,

Snow and Rockies,

Getting closer to Bozeman,

More Big Sky, Rockies, and snow,

Yeah, you know it, more...

and more...

Finally at Yellowstone National Park, but it's another 30 miles to the actual park and it's wonders,

Those are elk back there,

BISON!  Right by the road, and they don't care about you or your car,
it's their park, and they know it!

The Herd!

Close enough for ya?

On the way to see the lady,

her little sisters were busy too,
Waiting for the big show,

A very nice visitor's center, most educational and entertaining too,

Old Faithful's little sister had the opening show,

Waiting on the old girl, this is the place,
now, will she be Faithful?

Yes she was!
Beautiful for sure!

Praise God and Thanks to His Goodness and Grace, we are here safe and sound, and ready for a good night's rest!

More tomorrow,
Until then,
God bless you and keep you always,
from the staff of "Driving Miss Adriana"!
