Saturday May 21

We are in Spring, TX with Larissa and her family.  We will head out for the second leg to Ft Stockton and then Carlsbad Caverns tomorrow.

We had a great Friday here with Larissa, Stephen, and Marina.  Thursday night when we arrived it was stormy and dark with dangerous driving conditions on the way due to the thunderstorms and strong winds.  But, thanks be to God, we arrived safely and then went to hear Marina's spring concert at her school.  She sang beautifully.

Friday was Marina and Abby day.  We went to the Woodlands, in particular Market Street because Marina wanted to show us the neat, unique Handmade Cosmetics shop where she will have her birthday party in a few weeks.  What a neat concept where the customers can make and take their own cosmetics.  Certainly cheaper and more personal.
That's all she wanted to see and show us.  She didn't want the mall or anything else, so we came home.

Last night Stephen took us to Texas de Brazil, a very high end ($$$) steak buffet.  It was set up in a very elegant manner, great decor in "City Center", but still not near downtown Houston.  Top line salad bar with many great items.  But, the uniqueness comes from how they do the steak.  There are multiple "gauchos" who bring around different meats and cuts of meat that have been barbecued and grilled.  They offer you the meats which you get to choose what cut and how much you want - beef, lamb, veal, pork, and chicken.  It was delicious and absolutely filling to be sure.  I ate too much, but kept myself restrained for the most part.  Marina got a key lime pie for her birthday!  Definitely a memorable evening for all of us.
Thank You Stephen for a great evening!

So, here we are, Saturday morning.  Stephen is drilling with the reserves today.  Marina has a swim meet/gathering.  That leaves time for Larissa and Adri to spend time together.  I will stay home and read and write and research and relax.
