Discovering Seoul, and Tokyo - September 7th

We're almost packed, just a few items left to do... passports, plane tickets, and other paperwork all done... now counting down the hours until we head off on this year's adventures to Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, Korea.

This is a trip that has been long in the planning and preparing stage.  I was last in Korea in 1992, 26 years ago!  Adriana has never been there, so all this will be new for her.

We have chosen to take the "Retiree Seoul - Tokyo" tour sponsored by the Dragon Hill Lodge in Seoul.

We added the one week Tokyo option so that we could experience the excitement and energy of one of the largest, most populated and advanced cities in the world.  Also, my DNA analysis shows that I am quarter Japanese descent, so there's that.

We'll fly out early Saturday, Sep 8 from Sarasota to Atlanta, connect and fly non-stop Atlanta to Narita airport in Tokyo.  It's going to be a long flight.
Amazing that an airplane can take hundreds of people, all their luggage and fly nearly 12,000 miles NON-STOP!  Wow!  The engineering and technology advances that make that possible are mind-boggling!

We are both very excited, like little children waiting for Christmas!  It will be enlightening, entertaining, exceptionally exciting in so many ways.  We've been watching the videos on youtube...

And, there are many, many more...

So, now we pack, go through our final checklists, enjoy a few minutes, and then we'll be ready for the sedan to take us to the airport at 5:45 a.m. for our adventure.

We'll keep you posted with many pictures and updates!
Stay safe, healthy, and be happy in God's love,
see you soon!
